Festive Foliage Christmas Card

Christmas Card showing an arrangement of green leaves and red berries.

I’m beginning to think I should name my cardmaking blog “How Will She Cover This Mistake?” I masked off the center of the watercolor paper, stamped Festive Foliage, and then watercolored the leaves and berries. I added Wink of Stella over the leaves to make them shine. I drew border lines around the center masked space.

And then after all that work, I managed to rock the stamp slightly and ended up with a halo around the word merry when I stamped it in the middle. I wanted to cry, but there’s no crying in cardmaking! There is only clever ways to cover up mistakes. So I stamped the sentiment on a spare bit of the watercolor paper, added banner ends, and popped it up on Dimensionals.

I decided it needed something more. The watercolor banner on the watercolor center seemed off. I dug a scrap of the Evening Evergreen out and tucked it under both ends of the banner. It looks like the strip runs the width of the card, but in truth, there is less than an inch tucked in there. I’m so tricksy!
